Vodafone Egypt wins two awards at the Middle East Technology Excellence Awards 2025

The company was recognised for digital innovation and network & broadband excellence.

Vodafone Egypt has secured two major awards at the prestigious Middle East Technology Excellence Awards 2025, winning in the Digital - Telecommunications and Network & Broadband - Telecommunications categories. This recognition highlights Vodafone’s leadership in leveraging technology, artificial intelligence, and customer-first innovation to redefine its digital customer experience and to enhance the quality of its fixed broadband network.

Vodafone Egypt’s award in the Network & Broadband - Telecommunications category reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance its fixed broadband service quality over the past 24 months. By deploying AI-powered analytics, Vodafone managed to significantly improve the fixed broadband speeds, the fixed broadband latency and the fixed broadband connection stability with minimal manual intervention.

Complementing these advancements, Vodafone Egypt is the first operator in the country to offer to its fixed customers a full digital self-care option in Ana Vodafone app. Vodafone Fixed Customers can now self-manage their home WiFi in a simple and intuitive way without the need for technical knowledge, from wherever they are. Options like change my WiFi password, change my WiFi network name, restart my WiFi router, set parental controls for my kids, set which devices can access my WiFi network, and change my router password are now in the hands of the customer without the need to call Vodafone for support.

The company’s success in the Digital - Telecommunications category was driven by its adoption of generative AI technology to enhance the way the company interact with its customers through Ana Vodafone app and to bring joy and happiness to their customers’ daily lives. Key highlights were the two campaigns where AI and generative AI were successfully used. In the first campaign, customers could choose songs from popular artists, personalise the song by inserting the names of their loved ones, generate the modified song using the artist’s voice and then send the modified song to their beloved one. All in real time, directly from Ana Vodafone app. The campaign resulted in more than one million AI-generated songs created in the first 15 days and a total of five million generated over the full campaign period. In the second campaign, the customers were encouraged to smile and to capture their smile using the smartphone camera. The Vodafone AI engine would then confirm it’s a smile mood face and rewarded the customer with personalised Vodafone benefits. This unique approach to engagement was met with resounding success, generating two million customer interactions in its first month and driving a three-point increase in the company’s Net Promoter Score, further strengthening Vodafone Egypt’s relationship with its customers.

Through these achievements, Vodafone Egypt has once again demonstrated its leadership in digital innovation, network excellence, and customer empowerment, setting new benchmarks for the telecommunications industry and advancing its purpose to connect everyone. The Middle East Technology Excellence Awards 2025 celebrate the outstanding contributions of homegrown and international companies that are shaping the region’s technological landscape, recognising their innovation, growth strategies, and impact on both economic and community development.
