Updating legacy technology for industry-wide access to critically-acclaimed solutions

iNNOVATEQ’s Nibras platform enhances asset management and production optimisation.

Leading digital transformation solutions provider iNNOVATEQ has entered into a multi-year agreement with leading international energy company Shell Global Solutions International B.V. to launch a new commercial chapter for Shell’s Production Universe (PU) software by integrating the same into iNNOVATEQ’s Integrated Asset Management Nibras platform.

Shell’s Production Universe is a state-of-the-art software with real-time analytics application for the management of wells in oil and gas production operations. It uses data-driven models of wells whilst leveraging machine learning to provide real-time well flow rate estimates and production optimisation.

Production Universe is currently deployed over a range of Shell-operated production assets. It is a patented and award-winning innovative technology with multiple success stories published by the Society of Petroleum Engineers since 2006. It is estimated that Production Universe delivers great value from the use of its output for well-by-well production allocation and real-time monitoring and optimisation.

Meanwhile, iNNOVATEQ’s Nibras platform, a globally renowned platform in the oil and gas industry, is a digital solution for enhanced asset management and production optimisation.

Nibras was engineered with LEAN methodologies, introducing a unique Exception-Based Management approach that mimics how the human body operates and handles exceptions through its biological nervous system. It was built to help organisations sustain their business values and returns, whilst in parallel enabling continuous improvement with an exceptional scale-up architecture.

It has been built as an industry-agnostic platform, which has been utilised for over a decade in wells, reservoirs and facilities management within the oil and gas industry. Nibras is currently being used by 3,000 users in 17 technical and business disciplines to manage over 8,000 wells and more than 11,000 pieces of surface facility equipment.

“Technology is a key enabler for Shell’s strategy for Shell’s success. Almost everything Shell Projects and Technology does for customers and partners is enabled by technology in one way or the other. Modernizing Production Universe, we believed will also allow the data to be integrated with other key technologies and allow it to power modern digital solutions and analytics” said Mr Sriganesh Karur, GM Surface Operations Technology at Shell

iNNOVATEQ’s platform has been recognised by the Middle East Technology Excellence Awards as it clinches the win in the Analytics - Oil & Gas category. The prestigious awards programme honours outstanding companies in the region that made exceptional contributions in pursuit of technological innovation in their respective industries.
