United Cooperative Assurance clinches win at Middle East Technology Excellence Awards 2022

Its winning Eagle programme targets the digitalisation of insurance and administration operations of the company.

Insurance provider United Cooperative Assurance (UCA) has taken home the Automation - General Insurance award at the recently held Middle East Technology Excellence Awards 2022 for its digital transformation programme Eagle Programme.

The programme targets the digitalisation of the insurance and administration operations of UCA and aims to create a data-driven decision-making environment. The aimed digital transformation takes a customer-centric approach, which means that the solution should provide new electronic-based channels for customer engagement.

The Eagle Programme is designed with four main initiatives, namely: Peregrine, Harpy, Harbour, and Martial.

Project Peregrine is the programme’s mega project aimed at digitalising all insurance business lines of UCA. Its inception also led to the automation of the underlying processes, and robotising of the associated manual activities of the insurance business, providing optimum care to customers. Mainly, it digitalises, automates, and robotises motor insurance operations.

Project Harbour, on the other hand, aims to digitalise, automate, and robotise non-motor insurance operations. It is an extension of Project Peregrine.

Meanwhile, Project Harpy aims to provide digital transformation for all administration and business operations of UCA. Project Martial is a capstone project under the Eagle programme that aims to add ‘necessary intelligence to the business and aims the creation of the data warehouse as the base of business intelligence and data analytics capabilities.

The transformation to the next-generation planned to happen through many phases that change the company smoothly to embrace the change. With that, Project Martial aims to transform the "Data Analytics" discipline of the company from a legacy use of data to being a fully data-driven company to make proper business predictions and advisories to the business managers at different levels and give competitive advantage to the company.

The prestigious awards programme honours outstanding companies in the region that made exceptional contributions in pursuit of technological innovation in their respective industries.
