SCB TechX wins big at Asian Management Excellence Awards for tech innovations

Its CEO Trirat Suwanprateeb implemented a strategic vision for the company, which drove substantial growth and technological advancements.

SCB TechX was lauded at the inaugural Asian Management Excellence Awards for revolutionising its DevOps operations through its DevOps-as-a-Service platform xPlatform, as well as the visionary leadership of its CEO Trirat Suwanprateeb that pushed the company to new heights in the ASEAN technology sector.

The xPlatform came to be as the team behind it identified significant challenges hindering growth, primarily revolving around work processes and time consumption related to infrastructure, pipeline, and security preparations throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

It was further exacerbated by a scarcity of individuals with DevOps expertise in the labour market and the irreplaceable nature of DevOps tasks demanding specialised skills.

As a response, the team introduced a transformative solution through the xPlatform, delivering substantial advancements to the company's business landscape. The integration of all development and DevOps tasks within the SDLC process empowered developers to autonomously handle tasks such as infrastructure setup, code implementation, infrastructure provisioning, auditing, deployment, and application release efficiently.

Such capabilities let working teams assume responsibilities previously reserved for DevOps, expediting operations without the need for additional DevOps hires.

The xPlatform solutions are poised to address the common hurdles faced by various organisations through automating and expediting DevOps tasks, reducing operational costs, enhancing work efficiency, mitigating risk factors, and enabling quicker development and release of products and services to the market.

Meanwhile, SCBTechX has also seen remarkable technological progress under Trirat’s guidance. This includes the development of the SCB EASY App, its migration to the Cloud with 14.6 million users, and the establishment of the SCB TechX ISO Gateway, processing over 20 million daily cross-bank transactions.

Trirat's innovative approach has also become evident in his integration of Google API integrity checks for enhanced security measures in SCB's digital banking services to thwart scammers’ activities and his leadership in developing Thailand’s first proprietary food delivery app Robinhood and the PointX loyalty platform.

These initiatives not only diversified SCB TechX's digital portfolio but also quintupled the platform sales revenue in 2023 and expanded the B2B customer base by four times.

Trirat also addressed significant challenges in fostering continuous innovation whilst ensuring operational excellence at SCB TechX through the introduction of Venture Tank, an in-house venture capital programme that encourages employees to develop innovative ideas, thereby decentralising innovation and fostering a culture of creativity and entrepreneurship.

“Trirat Suwanprateeb's tenure as CEO of SCB TechX is marked by transformative achievements, innovative problem-solving, and a profound commitment to advancing both business growth and employee development. His holistic approach to leadership has not only driven SCB TechX's success but also established the company as a significant player in the ASEAN technology sector," the company said.

The SCB TechX xPlatform team took home the win in the Thailand Team of the Year - Technology category, whilst Trirat received the Thailand Executive of the Year - Technology.
