MR.DIY Philippines wins two awards at Asian Management Excellence Awards 2026

Celebrating rapid growth and neurodiverse inclusion, the company sets new standards in Philippine retail.

MR.DIY Philippines won Philippines Executive of the Year - Retail and Philippines Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year - Retail in the Asian Management Excellence Awards 2026. The awards recognise the company’s commitment to ethical growth, people-first leadership, and inclusive practices.

Under the leadership of Roselle Marisol Andaya, the first Filipina CEO of MR.DIY Philippines, the company expanded from six stores in 2018 to more than 900 nationwide, creating over 6,000 jobs. Andaya’s strategy focuses on bringing affordable, high-quality essentials to underserved communities whilst maintaining operational discipline and financial performance. MR.DIY stores now break even within six months of opening, a performance ahead of industry standards, reflecting her decisive leadership and clear strategic vision.

Beyond financial growth, the company under Andaya’s leadership, champions social impact and environmental sustainability. MR.DIY Philippines directed PHP1.9b in procurement spending in 2024 to local suppliers, supporting small and medium enterprises across the Philippines. The company also launched the Good Bag Campaign, mobilising customers to support community projects, fund tree planting, provide school supplies to 1,884 students, and extend medical assistance to over 3,400 individuals. Renewable energy installations across 35 stores and warehouses further reduced environmental impact.

The company’s recognition for diversity and inclusion stems from its Neurodiverse Internship Program, a pioneering initiative offering real-world retail experience to students on the autism spectrum. Developed in partnership with Candent Learning Haus and Marvelous Minds Tutorial Center, the programme combines customised schedules, embedded teacher support, and inclusivity training for store teams.

Eight interns completed the pilot, contributing meaningful work whilst building confidence and employability skills. MR.DIY Philippines now plans to expand the initiative to additional stores and scale it into a sustainable pathway from internship to employment. The goal is to foster an inclusive workplace for everyone, regardless of background or circumstance.
