Asian Hospital and Medical Centre brings home two distinctions at Asian Management Excellence Awards 2026
It clinched the Philippines Innovator of the Year - Healthcare and the Philippines Team of the Year - Healthcare titles.
The Philippines’ Asian Hospital and Medical Centre landed two major wins at the Asian Management Excellence Awards 2026 for the success of its Asian Cancer Institute (ACI) in surpassing its recent organisational targets through operational efficiency, elevated patient experience, and clinical innovations such as the CyberKnife S7.
In 2024-2025, ACI has earned PHP363.8m in revenue, surpassing its 30.2% growth target with 41% YTD by September 2025, demonstrating the team’s coordinated approach. This is made possible by the institute’s patient-centred, holistic cancer care through its six specialised, interdisciplinary centres working as an integrated continuum: Breast, Simply Women, Emmanuel, Chrys 1 Infusion, Conquer C, and Chrys 2 Supportive and Integrative Care
This coordinated, team-based model supports every stage of the cancer journey: from prevention and diagnosis to treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care.
Facing operational pressures during the same period, the ACI team has implemented coordinated solutions: active patient navigation, extended operating hours, an expanded infusion unit with faster TAT, interdisciplinary CyberKnife integration, strengthened manpower, and comprehensive supportive care services.
It has also advanced equitable care by expanding PhilHealth-aligned packages, offering chemotherapy brand options, and improving access to innovative drug assistance programmes. Meanwhile, infrastructure enhancements such as digital pathology and advanced imaging have further elevated its service quality.
At the same time, ACI has strengthened its leadership through research and technology, serving as principal investigator in seven global clinical trials and launching the Philippines’ first CyberKnife S7 (CKS7), an artificial intelligence-enabled radiosurgery system that has attracted national and international patients.
CKS7 offers non-invasive, frameless treatment with real-time tumour tracking and sub-millimetre precision, enabling high-dose radiation delivery in one to five sessions for tumours anywhere in the body. As of 2025, ACI has one of only three operational units in Asia.
The tool strengthens ACI’s role as a national referral centre, serving patients from across the Philippines and neighbouring countries. Its efficiency helps address national shortages in radiation therapy resources whilst reducing patient travel, logistical concerns, and other treatment burdens.
“These collective strategies enabled the ACI Team to transform challenges into opportunities for improvement, resulting in exceptional care for patients and families. The ACI Team’s unwavering commitment to stewardship proves that when collaboration and compassion drive healthcare, transformative outcomes are achieved,” Asian Hospital and Medical Centre said.
The ACI Team has been recognised as the Philippines Team of the Year - Healthcare in the awards programme for its operational triumphs in the past year, as well as the Philippines Innovator of the Year - Healthcare for the success of the CKS7 in redefining cancer care in the Philippines.
