Sanofi clinches two wins at Malaysia Management Excellence Awards 2025

The company won the Team of the Year – Pharmaceuticals and Health and Wellness of the Year - Pharmaceuticals.

Sanofi, a leading global biopharma company committed to improving people’s lives and creating compelling growth, earned dual accolades at the prestigious Malaysia Management Excellence Awards 2025.

The company was awarded Team of the Year - Pharmaceuticals for its exceptional demonstration in driving operational excellence. This recognition celebrates its diverse capabilities, including its pioneering expansion into Manufacturing & Supply (M&S) Services and innovative efficiency improvements in finance operations. Simultaneously, its holistic approach to employee wellbeing, nurturing body, mind, and purpose as part of everyday culture, earned Sanofi the title of Health and Wellness Initiative of the Year - Pharmaceuticals.

These achievements underscore the Kuala Lumpur (KL) Hub's transformative impact within Sanofi's global GBS network, setting new benchmarks regionally and across the industry.

Operational GBS excellence through bold transformation

Sanofi’s Kuala Lumpur Hub has also been honoured as the Team of the Year - Pharmaceuticals for its unwavering commitment to purpose, ambitious approach to transformation and its ability to lead with courage and agility.

As a team, KL Hub exemplifies the best of what global business services can be. With a culture rooted in innovation, resilience, adaptability, and a One Sanofi mindset, the team has consistently demonstrated that GBS can deliver far more than operational support—it can be a true enabler of business impact.

This transformation has taken shape through several bold moves; one example includes a strategic expansion of their capabilities into Manufacturing and Supply (M&S) Services, allowing the hub to support regulated, patient-critical processes across Asia Pacific. The move, started in Q4 2024, has positioned the company as one of the few GBS centres in Malaysia to deliver end-to-end patient-critical GxP processes, including Third-Party Audits (TPA), Product Technical Complaints (PTC), and Regional Quality Documentation across Asia Pacific

Continuous improvement also flourishes within its Finance Controlling Operations team, which has driven simplification and modernisation by implementing an internal optimisation project that streamlined over 3,000 cost centres, reduced manual effort by 30%, and improved master data accuracy by 15%. This initiative reflects KL Hub’s focus on building smarter, more efficient systems that support real-time decisions and business continuity.

These are examples of what the team has achieved by consistently stepping forward, taking ownership, and delivering with care—deserving its recognition in this category.

Wellbeing reimagined with care and purpose

Sanofi’s wellness philosophy is anchored in its All Well foundation, introduced to support a purposeful employee experience through four pillars: healthy bodies, healthy minds, healthy financials, and a healthy working culture. Their approach ensures employees have peace of mind and support in dealing with personal challenges and empowers them to build roots with the company in a nurturing environment.

Employees and their immediate families have access to confidential support via the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Sanofians also participate in wellness workshops and check-ins with managers. During critical moments, wellbeing is demonstrated most compassionately, such as providing professional counselling when there is a sudden loss of a colleague or offering medical support during medical emergencies.

Physical wellness is equally prioritised, with ergonomic workspaces, flu vaccinations, fitness campaigns, healthy eating programmes, and on-site amenities like free breakfasts and an in-house barista. Life events are also treated with dignity and empathy, including gender-neutral parental leave, flexible arrangements for caregivers, and protections for employees undergoing cancer or other critical illness treatment.

These efforts are tied together by purpose and impact. Sanofi empowers employees with humanitarian experiences, such as the Rare Disease Ambassador Program, with its recent pilot in Sri Lanka and supports balance through AI-powered automation, which reduces repetitive workload and enables more meaningful contributions. Sanofi’s approach to wellbeing is holistic, people-first, and seamlessly embedded into the workplace culture.

For this major feat, the company received the Health and Wellness Initiative of the Year - Pharmaceuticals title in the awards programme.
