Omnicom Media Group Malaysia celebrates hat-trick at Malaysia Management Excellence Awards 2025

The company earned three distinctions for empowering its employees and strengthening health and wellness. 

Omnicom Media Group (OMG) Malaysia, the media services division of Omnicom Group, has won three trophies at the esteemed Malaysia Management Excellence Awards 2025: Employee Engagement of the Year - Advertising, Health and Wellness Initiative of the Year - Advertising,  and the Team of the Year - Advertising. These accolades recognise its EVP framework of  Empower, Elevate, Engage, as well as the achievements of its media agency, PHD, in redefining growth and talent amidst challenges. 

OMG Malaysia’s EVP framework fosters a thriving culture for its talent through programmes that create a people-first, supportive, and inclusive environment where employees feel valued,  connected, and encouraged to grow. This approach not only unlocks employees’ potential but also enables them to flourish personally and professionally. 

These initiatives include the culture and happiness team, OMG E.M.S., SOS expert panels, and monthly town halls, which create safe spaces for collaboration and open communication.  Recognition programmes such as OMG Spotlight, Golden Goose, and Champion of the Month  Awards also celebrate excellence and reinforce company values. 

Meanwhile, OMG Malaysia drives talent development through programmes such as OMG  Mentorship, a six-month career and personal growth initiative, and the OMG Catalyst learning programme that covers media fundamentals, personal effectiveness, and business skills. With over 155 training sessions in two years and partnerships with Harvard Business School, OMG Malaysia has built structured, future-ready leadership and career pathways for employees.

With a workforce representing seven nationalities and 66% women, the company doubles down on inclusivity and connection through DEI training, OMG Houses, festive events, corporate social responsibility efforts, and annual trips.

From innovation to impact

OMG agency PHD was also spotlighted during the awards for its transformation initiatives focused on full-funnel planning, impression quality, workflow automation, and continuous learning, freeing up 25% of team capacity and enhancing client impact. 

The media agency has introduced Impression Quality as a key metric to connect media performance with business outcomes. Workflows have also been automated using tools such as SignIt, PlanIt, and live dashboards. 

PHD Malaysia’s Catalyst Training Programme has also offered 53 sessions that simulated real agency experience, resulting in 95% of staff becoming digitally certified. Additionally, the team accelerated growth by scaling its data and technology capabilities, leveraging global tools such as Omni, Omnicom’s advanced intelligence platform, for artificial intelligence (AI)-driven optimisation. 

Beyond technology, PHD has positioned Malaysia as a thought leadership hub through industry events that explore the evolving impact of AI and marketing innovation. It has also advanced its expertise in ESG-aligned media, first-party data strategies, and AI-powered buying. 

For these outstanding achievements, the PHD team has been recognised as the Team of the  Year - Advertising.
