Lintasarta celebrated with the Indonesia Employee Experience of the Year - Telecommunications award at the Asian Experience Awards 2023
Lintasarta FlexWork initiative has reshaped work habits, reimagined the workplace, and achieved remarkable business growth whilst still prioritising employee health and well-being.
Lintasarta emerged victorious at the Asian Experience Awards, where it was named the winner in the Indonesia Employee Experience of the Year - Telecommunications category. This recognition celebrates Lintasarta's exemplary achievement in introducing its groundbreaking FlexWork policy, transforming employee experience and fostering a resilient working ecosystem.
The Asian Experience Awards, renowned for honouring outstanding initiatives prioritising customer and employee experiences across Asia, have acknowledged Lintasarta's remarkable journey in implementing FlexWork, a hybrid working policy that champions flexibility, employee health, and cost efficiency in the face of uncertainties.
“Lintasarta's FlexWork policy emerged as a beacon of resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent social activity restrictions. As the pandemic reshaped societal norms, including work styles, Lintasarta responded with agility and determination,” Bayu Hanantasena, President Director, Lintasarta said.
In March 2020, it initiated the Stay Healthy Solution, underpinned by the principles of ‘Healthy, Happy, and High-Performing' (3H). This initiative ensured that employee productivity and business performance remained unwavering, even in the midst of remote working arrangements necessitated by the pandemic.
As the pandemic's duration extended, Lintasarta proactively prepared to make remote working a long-term fixture. In January 2021, it officially launched FlexWork, a comprehensive policy fostering flexibility, supporting employee health, and enhancing cost efficiency. This transformative initiative encompassed substantial changes across the work environment, mindset, habits, and tools.
The workplace was reimagined to serve as more than just a physical space for work. Collaborative areas, online webinar studios, and leadership rooms were introduced within the office, promoting joint and dynamic working environments.
FlexWork catalysed a fundamental shift in employee mindset. The policy encouraged a focus on task completion and integrity in work. A survey conducted during the early stages of remote work revealed that 86% of employees were eager to embrace FlexWork, with 77% acknowledging that the supporting infrastructure met their remote working needs. To facilitate this mindset shift, comprehensive socialisation was conducted for all employees, empowering them to adapt to new work styles. Work unit leaders were also equipped with training and guidance through the Leader Guidebook.
FlexWork also orchestrated a seamless transition to a hybrid approach that combined face-to-face with digital collaboration and learning, supported by a suite of tools provided by Lintasarta.
Technology played an indispensable role in enabling the effective implementation of FlexWork which features an essential work-related digital application. MyLintasarta application facilitated attendance tracking and self-service needs, whilst other digital systems helped Lintasarta streamline communication, file sharing, and task management. Additionally, Lintasarta subscribed to a global on-demand learning system ready for 24/7, offering more than 8,000 learning resources and internal training content, promoting continuous employee development.
The transition to FlexWork began in 2022, with employees working from the office 1-2 times a week, adhering to social restrictions with a 50-75% capacity. By 2023, FlexWork was fully realised, with employees working from the office three times a week (Work from Office) and remotely two times a week (Work from Anywhere).
Bayu adds that the profound impact of FlexWork on Lintasarta's performance and employee engagement has been remarkable. The company's revenue surged by an impressive 33% during the period from 2020 to 2022. Concurrently, the company achieved internal cost efficiencies, translating to cumulative savings of IDR15b over three years. Additionally, most of the existing employees remain stay which describes the excellent impact of FlexWork on retaining the employees. The existence of FlexWork receives positive feedback from employees and it is highlighted during the employee engagement survey. Lintasarta's branding also flourished, attracting increased interest from prospective employees, establishing it as an employer of choice, with an average of over 1,000 applicants for each job opening.
As part of its commitment to continuous improvement, Lintasarta is actively pursuing a comprehensive Digital Employee Experience. The company is developing applications for the centralised management of talent on a cloud-based system and enhancing visibility in task management. The initiative aims to extend FlexWork's impact to maintain both levels of productivity and engagement.
“Lintasarta's Internal Communications team is diligently working on bolstering employee engagement through various digital channels, social media platforms, and official company channels. Their commitment to enhancing the employee experience and embracing FlexWork greatly contributes to the company’s performance,” Bayu said.
