FINEXUS wins Malaysia Management Excellence Awards 2025 for systems transformations, employee engagement
The group secured two category wins for the transformation of its front- and back-end systems.
FINEXUS Group took home two accolades at the Malaysia Management Excellence Awards 2025: Employee Engagement of the Year - Financial Technology and Team of the Year - Financial Technology, for enhancements to its systems that enabled scalability and collaboration, as well as its employee engagement initiatives that have built a thriving workplace for its employees.
On the front end, the company has shared a component library with standardised logic, theming flexibility, documentation, demos, versioning, and centralised maintenance for faster and more consistent development. On the back end, it has migrated all applications into containers and centralised configurations in a Git Repository, establishing a single source of truth.
The transformation comes as its front-end teams are slowed by rebuilding basic features, maintaining duplicate fixes across projects, and facing difficult onboarding due to inconsistent approaches, whilst its back-end processes rely on manual deployments, lack proper error tracking and observability, and suffer from long lead times for deployments, testing, and release validation.
FINEXUS has enabled faster development, easier developer mobility, unified practices across teams, reduced maintenance costs, and increased scalability for its front-end system. At the same time, it has achieved a 71% cut in production deployment time and 94% time saved in manifest packaging for its back-end system, whilst also reducing onboarding and testing time, automating regression testing, and improving reliability and transparency amongst developers and managers.
Moreover, these benefits have led to the optimisation of its 500-strong workforce by 29%, empowering its teams to deliver more efficient results than before. Its costs have also been slashed by up to 15% whilst maintaining an increase in revenue.
The group won the Team of the Year - Financial Technology in the awards programme for this groundbreaking effort.
“This transformation is more than just a technical achievement—it is a cultural shift that has reshaped how FINEXUS operates. By addressing both front-end and back-end challenges head-on, our team has built a future-ready platform that delivers speed, scalability, and confidence across the organisation,” said Joanne Loh, Director, Strategy and Transformation of FINEXUS.
Bridging employees and fulfilment
Meanwhile, FINEXUS has also emphasised the importance of its employees, setting out objectives strategically designed to create fulfilment, purpose, and genuine connection. It has previously sought a partnership with the Malaysian Mental Health Association to spark continuous well-being initiatives, open conversations, and stronger team connections to prevent burnout.
Through the FINEXSTARS Outreach programme, the group has also collaborated with several agencies to educate its employees on financial literacy. This initiative has strengthened their understanding of entitlements and financial well-being across the workforce.
Its 2025 Well-being Series has also promoted physical and social health through spinal checks and menstrual equity awareness campaigns. Besides these campaigns, FINEXUS also collaborated with the social enterprise Kloth MY to promote textile recycling and collected 300 kg of reusable materials.
These efforts have brought FINEXUS the Employee Engagement of the Year - Financial Technology title.
