Technology Control Company HR team named Saudi Arabia Team of the Year – Technology

The team won for integrating technology into strategies to foster a culture of excellence within the company.

The HR Team of Technology Control Company (TCC) was honoured with the Saudi Arabia Team of the Year - Technology accolade at the Middle East Management Excellence Awards 2024 for their innovative strategies, combining creativity and strategic foresight to tackle challenges and drive positive outcomes for the organisation. This award underscores the team's pivotal role in integrating technology into HR strategies to foster a culture of excellence within the company.

The team has markedly enhanced recruitment, retention, training, and employee satisfaction through their innovative strategies whilst upholding a strong commitment to diversity.

Enhancing employee development

TCC HR Team has showcased notable innovation in recruitment and talent acquisition by leveraging advanced technologies and data analytics, significantly streamlining the hiring process, and improving time-to-hire and retention rates. Their innovative training and development approach integrates digital learning platforms and personalised development plans, boosting employee engagement and accelerating skill growth.

In response to the evolving work landscape, they have implemented flexible work arrangements, including telecommuting and remote collaboration tools, to support work-life balance and attract top talent from diverse locations. Additionally, their strategic use of people analytics enhances decision-making, optimises resource allocation, and anticipates future needs, contributing to a culture of excellence and sustainable growth at TCC.

Despite challenges in recruitment, training and development, and diversity and inclusion, TCC HR Team successfully implemented various strategies to address and overcome these issues. They enhanced recruitment by leveraging social media, attending career fairs at educational institutions, and participating in industry events such as Black Hat, Seamless, and Leap. These efforts have positioned TCC as an employer of choice within the technology sector.

The team has also invested in training and development programs that encompass leadership, technical skills, and soft skills, promoting comprehensive employee development. Their diversity and inclusion initiatives, including unconscious bias training, mentorship programs, and targeted diversity recruiting strategies, have fostered an inclusive environment. As a result, TCC has seen better training outcomes, increased employee engagement and productivity, and a significant reduction in diversity issues, ultimately fostering a culture of growth and excellence within the company.

Transformative outcomes

The HR team has made substantial contributions to both commercial success and organisational achievements through a range of impactful initiatives. For two consecutive years (2022-2023), the team has been certified as a Great Place to Work. They have achieved 100% automation of HR services and launched the “My Qualifications” service, empowering employees to update their files, CVs, and certificates.

The team has also completed over 12 reports through the ERP system and partnered with one of the largest global consulting firms to review competencies, salary scales, and benefits. Additionally, they have made significant progress in finalising the TCC organisational structure and have approved numerous job descriptions. With over 93% of employees completing their training as planned, the team has ensured effective skill development. They successfully managed coop and summer training programmes for more than 17 trainees and executed a Coaching and Leadership programme for executives. Other notable accomplishments include launching the second version of JEEL Program (GDP), implementing several e-learning platforms to increase learning and development opportunities, and introducing a virtual sharing knowledge program facilitated by employees.

By proactively addressing these challenges and implementing effective strategies, the HR team contributes significantly to the company's success, ensuring a skilled, engaged, and diverse workforce that drives organisational growth and performance. Key achievements include a 93% employee training completion rate, the establishment of an Executive Coaching Program, and the implementation of a Sharing Knowledge Program.

“TCC HR Team exemplifies excellence in driving positive outcomes in the organization. Their meticulous approach, strategic mindset, and commitment to employee well-being have significantly contributed to the success of the organisation,” said Ahmad Ezzedine, Senior Director at Korn Ferry, a key stakeholder in TCC.
