SAL Logistics Services triumphs at the Middle East Excellence Awards 2024

SAL secured three awards at the Middle East Excellence Awards 2024. This win is a testament to SAL's dedication to driving forward the logistics sector in the region, aligning with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 objectives.

The Saudi National Logistics Champion, SAL, secured two Human Capital significant wins at the Middle East Management Excellence Awards 2024, recognised for its strategic initiatives aimed at fostering employee engagement and well-being. The company has successfully implemented a variety of programmes designed to nurture career fulfilment and support employees' physical, mental, and emotional health.

Additionally, SAL’s Digital Customer Experience Platform earned praise at the Middle East Technology Excellence Awards 2024, taking home the award in the Digital - Logistics category, a first of its kind for SAL showcasing its digital capabilities and strong calibre.

Award 1: Employee Engagement of the Year
Fostering Workforce Wellness

At the core of SAL’s success is its deep commitment to employee well-being. The company's internal communication initiatives have not only boosted team morale but also reinforced its dedication to celebrating diverse causes and important milestones. These initiatives have ranged from celebrations such as National Day and Women’s Day to awareness campaigns for Cybersecurity Awareness Month and Blood Donation drives.

Through the SAL Employee Recognition Program, the company has rewarded innovation and problem-solving amongst its workforce, fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement. SAL Stories, another key initiative, provides employees with a platform to share their experiences handling unique and challenging shipments, encouraging deeper connections amongst colleagues and highlighting the dynamic, solutions-driven environment within SAL.

Award 2: Health Initiative of the year
Healthy mind, healthy body

Recognising the importance of employee health, SAL has prioritised wellness programmes as both a moral and strategic business imperative. Amongst these initiatives is the “Stepping is a Blessing” program, which motivates employees to maintain an active lifestyle during the holy month of Ramadan by tracking their steps and participating in friendly challenges, promoting a healthier workforce.

To further support mental well-being, SAL held painting sessions during Mental Health Awareness day back in May aimed at reducing stress and fostering self-expression. This initiative was very successful that employees have requested such sessions be held on a monthly basis. In collaboration with Saudi German Hospital, SAL launched the Health Lounge Initiative, offering regular medical check-ups to all employees across the Kingdom, ensuring employees remain healthy and productive.

As a testament to the success of these initiatives, SAL's employee satisfaction survey recorded a 98% participation rate, with high engagement levels reflected across both internal and social media platforms, where employees actively shared and celebrated their satisfaction with SAL and their loyalty.

Award 3: Digital Logistics
Revolutionising Digital Customer Service

SAL’s commitment to its customers translates directly to an enhanced digital and unique experience. The company’s innovative digital customer platform has transformed the cargo handling and logistics process by fully digitising the customer journey.

This platform provides real-time, 24/7 transparency, enabling clients to track their shipments from arrival to payment to final pick-up. By integrating WebApp and Mobile App solutions for iOS and Android, the platform has empowered shippers, consignees, brokers, and freight forwarders to manage their shipments with ease. This comprehensive solution streamlines logistics tasks, offering a one-stop service that reduces costs and enhances efficiency.

With 95% market share in Saudi Arabia’s air cargo handling sector, SAL is setting new industry standards for digital cargo management. The platform has improved communication and reduced billing discrepancies whilst offering key features like cargo arrival notifications, slot booking, and online payment—further solidifying SAL's leadership in logistics technology.

SAL continues to stand out as the National Logistics Champion for the Kingdom, setting its employees and customers first. By fostering a supportive work environment and consistently enhancing its digital capabilities to serve its customers, SAL continues to deliver impact and set new standards in the logistics industry.
