Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara wins two accolades at Asian Experience Awards 2024

The ATM Link network supports the growth of Indonesia's digital economy, expanding its reach to remote areas whilst continuing to serve as a vital cashpoint for society that still rely on cash, fostering equitable financial inclusion.

Financial services company Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara (“Jalin”) has emerged victorious at the prestigious Asian Experience Awards 2024 for its ATM Link network that powers seamless interbank transactions, including a spectrum of financial services such as ATM services, debit cards, Indonesian credit cards (KKI), and Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) both domestically and cross-border.

The initiative is driven by strategic objectives aimed at strengthening Indonesia’s payment system sovereignty. Jalin seeks to enhance infrastructure to ensure the security and efficiency of national payments.

Currently, Jalin boasts a robust network of more than 70 national banking and fintech members, reaching even the regional levels. This extensive network underscores Jalin's commitment to expanding financial inclusion, particularly in underserved regions, fostering inclusive economic growth, and ensuring broad access to financial services for all segments of society. By increasing the participation of banks and fintech companies, Jalin aims to enhance the adoption rates of its services across the country.

In alignment with Bank Indonesia's Blueprint for Indonesia's Payment System (BSPI) 2030, Jalin actively engages in innovative initiatives that shape the future of digital payments, focussing on the development of key sectors such as infrastructure, industry, innovation, and internationalisation.

Jalin is also part of developing cross-border QRIS solutions aimed at facilitating seamless international transactions with countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. The company further supports national digitalisation efforts by implementing secure online tokenisation for KKI, thereby enhancing transaction security and convenience through the National Payment Gateway (GPN).

Moreover, the company is expanding the adoption of technologies like NFC-based QRIS Tap and QRIS Tuntas, which cover cash withdrawal, transfer, and cash deposit. This initiative advances the integration of QR code payments across the country and strengthens the digital payment ecosystem.

The Ministry of SOEs' service initiative through Jalin to integrate ATMs from Bank Mandiri, BRI, BNI, and BTN into a unified framework not only modernises Indonesia's financial infrastructure but also streamlines operations, optimises costs, and increases efficiency via shared infrastructure. The integration of new features into the ATMs has strengthened security measures and improved service options, including a better user interface and expanded functionality. Moving forward, this integration also maximises the strategic placement of cashpoint machines, reaching a broader range of locations through a footprint strategy to accelerate national financial inclusion.

The impact of the "LINK" switching network extends beyond operational success, making a significant contribution to the broader business and financial industry. By diversifying revenue streams through various payment channels, Jalin has established itself as a leader in debit switching and national QRIS transactions, driving industry-wide innovation and setting new standards for secure and efficient financial transactions.

Jalin has substantially redefined the future of Indonesia's banking and fintech industries by establishing new benchmarks through shared infrastructure and innovative features. This strategic approach optimises operational costs and future technology investments, allowing banks and fintech companies to concentrate on enhancing their user services.

"The Link service by Jalin exemplifies innovation, leadership, and impact within Indonesia's financial technology sector. Through its strategic objectives, active participation in national initiatives, and significant influence on the industry, the company continues to lead the way towards a more inclusive, efficient, and resilient financial ecosystem that benefits all Indonesians," stated Ario – CEO Jalin.

As Jalin continues to evolve, it remains focussed on enhancing the acceptance of Indonesia's financial ecosystem by promoting financial access, efficiency, and innovation. The company is extending its services to communities across the nation, including rural areas, through its National Digital Highway roadmap, which connects society with both financial and non-financial ecosystems.

Jalin clinched the Indonesia Brand Experience of the Year - Financial Services and the Indonesia Product Experience of the Year - Financial Services wins for the systematic integration of its essential financial services, as evidenced by ATM Link.

Asian Experience Awards 2024 recognises the ingenious initiatives of creative companies delivering meaningful brand experiences to their stakeholders.
