TDCX wins award for remarkable employee overall happiness results
It took home the Malaysia Employee Experience of the Year - Data Center at Asian Experience Awards.
Since its incorporation in 1995, TDCX has been a provider of outsourced services to a diverse clientele. Over the years, TDCX has evolved into an enabler of the digital economy, with more than 13,000 talented employees in eleven strategic locations supporting some of the biggest names in the industry.
Recognising the importance of focusing on the value of employee satisfaction, the company launched its own Centre of Excellence which focuses on employee experience and engagement. It covers numerous activities across different regions to cater to different needs of every TDCX employee from various multiethnic societies.
Overall, TCDX achieved an 88% score through the bi-yearly survey result with 8.5% score recorded for employees’ overall happiness, followed by 9.1% on the overall employee satisfaction. On wellness and personal health, the company scored 8.5%.
It also recognised that despite the pandemic, initiatives have a significant impact on their employees. In 2021, there was an increase of 5 percentage points (ppt) in the overall engagement score at 88% compared to 83% in 2019 prior to the pandemic. The response rate also increased by 3.6 ppt to 99.2% in comparison to 2020.
The impact was also observed through their employee retention. Compared to 2019, the attrition rate for 2021 was the lowest at 12.53%, a positive sign of the company’s continuous commitment and efforts for the past 12 months.
For these impressive figures, TCDX was awarded “Malaysia Employee Experience of the Year - Data Center” in the recently concluded Asian Experience Awards presented by Asian Business Review. The awards recognize the ingenious initiatives of creative companies delivering meaningful brand experiences to their stakeholders in all industries in Asia.
TCDX’s missions are based on its 5 strategies, which centers on its employees being seen, heard, and felt. This is with the aim to extend the impact to their customers and respective communities.
The first strategy is creating spaces that promote culture, focused on providing open and collaborative workspaces to make happier employees. Offices are designed to be a modern place where people, culture, and ideas can fuse. Second, is to reimagine performance management. Here, employees are enabled to benefit from the wide range of development and career planning activities.
The third strategy is investing in employee happiness. One of the efforts under this is the #BeHappier campaign which zeroed in on bolstering employee morale and well-being through a host of seminars, games, and contests in the virtual space. The series received a passionate response from the community, accompanied by countless comments requesting a second implementation.
Fourth is the career coach program wherein the company provides an employee onboarding plan to provide full support to its employees on their career development and progression, whilst the fifth is giving back to the community.
In the first quarter of 2021 alone, TCDX covered eight countries, implemented 27 projects supporting various causes, gave 1,625 in-kind donations courtesy of our employees, donated $5,566 to different non-profits, and reached 9,024 beneficiaries globally
