Singapore’s mediation programme will benefit ASEAN firms with tech disputes

The pilot for the programme ends on 31 December 2023.

Firms in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will benefit from the subsidised mediation to resolve their IP or tech disputes in the WIPO-Singapore ASEAN Mediation Programme (AMP).

The AMP allows individuals or entities with IP or technology disputes, or who need mediation support in concluding an IP or technology agreement, to receive funding of up to $8,000 for each mediation case, with the funding shared equally between parties unless otherwise agreed.

It also offers another mediation option for businesses, in addition to existing schemes such as the Revised Enhanced Mediation Promotion Scheme, which was prolonged from the Enhanced Mediation Promotion Scheme.

Those interested can apply for AMP funding by informing the WIPO Center when or after making a request for WIPO Mediation.

The pilot for AMP will finish on 31 December 2023 or when the budget is completely drawn down, whichever is earlier.

The programme is an initiative by the WIPO Singapore Office and the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore under the WIPO-Singapore Government Memorandum of Understanding. The AMP is backed by the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.
