The Malaysia National Business Awards is a prestigious annual recognition programme designed to celebrate and honor outstanding local businesses in Malaysia. The Awards serve as a tribute to the remarkable contributions of Malaysian firms to the nation's dynamic business landscape. Open exclusively to homegrown companies, the programme acknowledge excellence and innovation across various industries.

Companies are recognised for their exceptional projects, innovative products, outstanding services, and transformative initiatives, all of which contribute to setting new industry standards and enhancing the nation's reputation on the global stage.

CATEGORIES

The awards will be given in each of the following categories per Industry:

CATEGORIES

  1. Excellence Award
    • The Excellence Award recognizes a company's outstanding achievements in various areas that contribute to its overall success and reputation. This category is open to businesses that have demonstrated exceptional performance and excellence in multiple facets of their operations, such as marketing, branding, customer service, and corporate social responsibility. Companies eligible for this award are those that have consistently maintained high standards and have made significant contributions to their industry and the community.
    • This award pertains to a company's comprehensive accomplishments, track record of success, and its standing as a frontrunner within its industry.
  2. Initiative Award
    • The Initiative Award celebrates businesses that have taken proactive steps to address pressing challenges, seize opportunities, and demonstrate a forward-thinking approach. This category recognises companies that have launched innovative projects or initiatives to improve their operations, adapt to changing market dynamics, or address important societal issues.
    • This category is dedicated to a company's successful initiatives that have delivered a positive impact on its business, clients, and other stakeholders.
  3.  Innovation Award 
    • The Innovation Award is dedicated to recognising companies that have demonstrated outstanding innovation in areas outside of technology. This award celebrates creative and inventive solutions that extend beyond the realm of technology, encompassing domains such as business processes, service delivery, marketing, sustainability, and other non-technical fields. It honors organisations that have introduced groundbreaking changes and set new industry standards in these non-technical areas, reshaping the way business is conducted in their sector.
    • This award underscores the crucial role of innovation in achieving success, irrespective of the technological context. Please note that this award specifically focuses on non-technical innovation.

GUIDELINES

  • Nominations will be deliberated by a judging committee based on the judging criteria.

  • Eligible companies may submit a maximum of 3 nomination entries.

  • Only one company per industry category will be hailed as a winner.

  • Nominations and supporting documents will be accepted until 26 January 2024.

  • The nomination is free of charge. Should you win, by opting for one of the winners package option below, you can secure your seats at the prestigious awards dinner and gain access to a wide range of valuable benefits. ELIGIBILITY

  • The awards programme is open to homegrown companies in all industries in Malaysia with global headquarters located in the country. 

  • Eligible companies may nominate any initiatives that highlight the excellent work of the company such as: 

    • outstanding project, product or service launched for or with a client

    • innovative internal practices or strategies

  • The initiative must have been launched or had upgrades, in part or in full, in the last 24 calendar months.

Companies in the following industries are not eligible to join the awards programme: Cryptocurrency, Tobacco, Multilevel Marketing, and Products with claim of health benefits

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

 

Excellence Award

1. Operational Excellence:

  • How does your company ensure efficiency and productivity in delivering products or services?
  • What processes and quality control measures have you implemented to maintain high standards?

2. Leadership and Vision:

  • Describe the leadership within your organisation and its strategic direction.
  • How has your leadership inspired and guided the organisation toward excellence?

3. Impact:

  • What significant impact has your company had on your industry?
  • Can you provide examples of how your contributions have influenced industry practices, competitiveness, and growth?

4. Commitment to Quality:

  • How does your organisation demonstrate its dedication to maintaining high standards and prioritising quality?
  • What processes and measures are in place to ensure quality and foster continuous improvement? 

 

Initiative Award

1. Innovative Approach:

  • Share examples of the unique and creative initiatives or projects your company has undertaken.
  • How does your organisation encourage innovative thinking and unconventional solutions?

2. Project Execution:

  • Provide insights into how you plan, execute, and manage specific projects and initiatives.
  • What role have well-defined and well-executed projects played in your company's success?

3. Impact:

  • How have your initiatives effectively driven positive change, both within your company and your industry?
  • Can you measure and illustrate the tangible impact, such as improved processes, increased efficiency, or enhanced stakeholder relations?

4. Strategic Vision:

  • How does your organisation align its strategic vision with the initiation of projects and driving change?
  • How do your initiatives contribute to your long-term goals and inspire progress?

 

Innovation Award

1. Non-Tech Innovation:

  • Share instances where your company has demonstrated the ability to innovate in non-technological aspects of your business.
  • How do you approach creative solutions in areas like business processes, service delivery, marketing, sustainability, and other non-technical domains?

2. Effectiveness in Implementation:

  • How effectively have your non-tech innovations been implemented and integrated into your operations?
  • What measurable improvements have these innovations brought to your company's performance?

3. Industry Transformation:

  • What impact have your innovations had on your sector and industry as a whole?
  • How have your innovations set new industry standards and reshaped business practices?

4. Continuous Improvement:

  • Share how your company fosters a culture of non-technical innovation and continuous improvement.
  • How does this commitment contribute to your sustained success in non-technical areas?

HOW TO ENTER?

1. Go to the online nomination form.

2. Read the nomination guidelines.

3. Fill out the required fields.

  • Company and entrant details

  • Chosen category and industry

  • Entry Title

  • Entry Summary (500-words)

  • Upload supporting documents (such as company presentations or any other relevant materials) that can provide further insight into your entry.

  • Provide company or project achievements and Photos

  • Client testimonials (optional)

  • Chosen winner's package

4. You will then receive an email confirmation from the Malaysia National Business Awards organisers after your nomination has been received.

5. Should your supporting documents not be ready yet and were not submitted through the nomination form, you may send them to danica@charltonmediamail.com on or before 26 January 2024.

Who are eligible to nominate?

The awards programme is open to all homegrown companies in Malaysia that are currently headquartered in the country.

What can I nominate?

Homegrown companies in Malaysia may nominate any initiative that highlights the excellent work of the company, such as: 

  • outstanding project, product or service launched for or with a client

  • innovative internal practices or strategies

The initiative or project must have been launched or had upgrades, in part or in full, in the last 24 calendar months.

How do I nominate?

  1. Go to the online nomination form of the Malaysia National Business Awards 2024.
  2. On the form, you will be asked to provide company and entrant details, as well as your entry's title, 500-word write-up, client feedback (if any), project achievements, supporting documents and project photos.
  3. Select the winner's package option that you will book in the event that you successfully win the award.
  4. Should you need more time to collate your supporting documents, you may send the three (3) project photos and supporting documents to danica@charltonmediamail.com on or before 26 January 2024.


Note: Each nomination form is valid for one (1) entry only. If you are nominating several projects, please fill out separate nomination forms.

Can I send two or more entries for our company?

Each participant can submit a maximum of three (3) entries.

Note that each online nomination form is valid for one entry only. If you are submitting multiple entries, please enter each separately in the nomination form.

Can I nominate for more than 1 category?

You are welcome to submit your initiative across multiple categories that align with your company's industry.

As each company has the opportunity to nominate up to three (3) entries for the awards program, participants have the flexibility to strategically utilise this allocation to enhance their chances of securing an award.

How many winners per category?

Only one (1) winning company will be awarded in each category per industry.

Is there a cost involved?

Nomination is free of charge. To receive exclusive promotional entitlements and attend the prestigious awards dinner, winners must book any of the winner's package options.

Will there be an awards dinner this year?

Yes, there will be an awards dinner in Kuala Lumpur to gather all the winning companies and celebrate their well-deserved win.

More details will be provided to the winners after the announcement of results.

When is the deadline to submit an entry?

The deadline for submission is on 26 January 2024, Friday.
