Ngu Heng Sing
Executive Director, Transaction Services, Deal Advisory
KPMG in Malaysia
Heng Sing started his career with KPMG by joining the Assurance division in 2007 and move to KPMG in Malaysia’s Transaction Services division in May 2011.
He has experience in the audit of various public listed companies and multinationals from different industries including manufacturing, construction, plantation, automotive, poultry, and financial institutions.
He has also worked on due diligence engagements covering financial, commercial and operational for private equity firms, corporate investors, government agencies, and government-linked companies.
Among his notable engagements include:
• Assisted a leading technology company in their acquisition of various start-up companies, which included e-payment companies, online-to-offline e- commerce platforms, bicycle sharing company, and online grocery and delivery company;
• Assisted a private equity fund in the acquisition of various retail chains in Malaysia, which included pharmacies, budget stores, and specialty stores;
• Assisted the management of a leading global hamburger fast food chain in their proposed divestment of franchise rights in Malaysia and Singapore; • Assisted a sovereign wealth fund in the market study and assessment of the online photo printing industry;
• Assisted a local investment bank in the development of an external advisors’ manual covering the general process of work performed by reporting accountants, due diligence advisors, and tax advisors.


Dato’ Robert Teo
Managing Partner
RSM Malaysia PLT
Robert has more than 40 years of experience in the fields of corporate taxation, audit assurance and corporate restructuring exercises. Robert has also undertaken Special Administrator appointments by Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad (Danaharta was established by the Government of Malaysia to act as the national asset management company) for certain public listed companies and is also involved in the restructuring of corporations, some of which are listed on the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
His specialised industry knowledge lies in the property, construction and housing development sector with a focus on tax planning. He is an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of Symphony Life Berhad (formerly known as Bolton Berhad), one of the oldest established development group listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia.
Robert is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of Malaysia Smelting Corporation Berhad (MSC) which is currently one of the world’s leading integrated producer of tin metal and tin-based products and a global leader in custom tin smelting since 1887. He is also Chairman of the Audit Committee of Symphony Life Berhad and MSC.
Robert is on the Board of several Chambers of Commerce / Business Council and participates actively in bilateral initiatives especially on trade issues.

Tan Chin Teck
Executive Director, Tax
BDO Malaysia
Chin Teck is an Executive Director in Transfer Pricing at BDO in Malaysia. He has over 11 years of working experience in audit, tax and advisory services.
He started his career in Deal Advisory department of KPMG Malaysia in 2011 and worked on M&A and post-acquisition structuring projects, including financial & tax due diligence, tax structuring advice and SPA review.
Prior to joining BDO, he was also involved in various cross-function projects which include:
- Transfer Pricing;
- Implementation of GST;
- External Audit; and
- Implementation of MFRS 9 Financial Instruments.
Chin Teck then joined the Transfer Pricing practice of BDO Malaysia, advising clients on transfer pricing compliance and advisory issues.
His diverse work experience enables him to help clients review, document, manage and defend their transfer pricing policies and processes. He works with clients to develop sustainable transfer pricing strategies that involve supply chain management, business restructuring, system implications and most importantly, accounting and tax impact.

Only one company per industry category will be hailed as a winner.

Nominations and supporting documents will be accepted until 3 March 2023.

What can I nominate?
Foreign companies in Malaysia may nominate any initiatives that highlight the excellent work of the company such as:

The initiative or project must have been launched or had upgrades, in part or in full, in the last 24 calendar months.
How do I nominate?
Go to the online nomination form of the Malaysia International Business Awards 2023.
On the form, you will be asked to provide company and entrant details, as well as your entry's title, 500-word write-up, client feedback (if any), project achievements, supporting documents and project photos.
Kindly also select the winner's package option that you will book in the event that you successfully win the award.
Should you need more time to collate your supporting documents, you may send the three (3) project photos and supporting documents to danica@charltonmediamail.com on or before 3 March 2023.

As each company can nominate a maximum of four (4) entries for the awards programme, it is the choice of the participants the best way to maximise this to have a higher chances of winning an award.
How many winners per category?
Only one (1) winning company will be awarded in each industry category.
Is there a cost involved?
Nomination is free of charge. To receive exclusive promotional entitlements and attend the prestigious awards dinner, winners must book any of the winner's package options.

Will there be an awards dinner this year?
Yes, there will be an awards dinner in Kuala Lumpur to gather all the winning companies and celebrate their well-deserved win.
