Himel Hong Kong Limited receives accolade at Hong Kong Business Technology Excellence Awards 2026

The company introduced wiring devices with fingerprint-resistant surfaces and long-lasting colour retention.

Himel Hong Kong Limited won the Green Technology - Manufacturing category at the Hong Kong Business Technology Excellence Awards 2026 in Hong Kong for the NERIO Series. The wiring device range used a paint-free manufacturing process and was developed for residential and commercial settings. Its design combined natural material colour, a brushed surface, and electrical components intended for repeated daily use.

The manufacturing process removed the need for surface coating, allowing the material's original colour to remain visible. This reduced the production steps associated with painting and avoided common coating issues such as peeling and discolouration. The surface also resisted fingerprints and oil marks, which helped the switches and sockets maintain a clean appearance in frequently used areas.

Safety and durability formed another part of the product design. The range used fire-retardant polycarbonate and copper alloy components selected for heat resistance, structural stability, and repeated operation. It also complied with IEC and BS standards, supporting use in residential developments, offices, retail spaces, and other commercial environments. The standards applied across the full range.

The NERIO Series covered multiple switch and socket configurations within one product family. This allowed designers, installers, and property owners to select wiring devices for different room functions whilst keeping a consistent finish.

Its minimalist form and brushed texture were created to suit contemporary interiors without relying on painted decorative layers. The product family included configurations for lighting control, power access, and other everyday requirements, giving specifiers a single range for varied residential and commercial installation needs.

The project addressed two product requirements at the same time: reducing the environmental impact linked to surface finishing and maintaining performance over prolonged use.

Himel Hong Kong Limited presented the range as part of its approach to green manufacturing, with the paint-free process, durable materials, and functional variety forming the basis of the recognised entry.
